The Johannesburg Expo Centre hosted Rage Expo 2024 from 29 November – 1 December 2024, showcasing the latest developments in the tech and gaming industries. The event was a geeks paradise that drew in enthusiasts and professionals eager to experience the latest innovations and trends in the world of technology and gaming.

One of the highlights of the event was the Afrogeek Playroom, which brought the spirit of Afro-Fututism to the expo. The playroom highlighted the importance of African creativity, culture and technology from different studio perspectives.

A panel was hosted which discussed Exploring African Mythology Through Gaming. It featured Khumo Moerane of ItThynk Gaming, Joy Mawela from Tshimologong, Thato Molamu from LIMA Academy and Makere Thekiso. The panel explored the importance of bringing African Gods and Mythology in gaming and new stories that the world hasn’t heard of. Furthermore, the African Mythology in its moral lessons, warnings and cultural customs of their ancestors that they wished to pass on from generation to generation.

The discussion also centered around Khamani: The Lion of Summer. Through Khamani, the game celebrates Africa and its awesomeness that is in every African. Khumo mentioned that they want to make Khamani the world’s most loved and successful African video game hero. These stories are also an impression of the ancestors’ creativity, showcasing their storytelling prowess and imagination. Khamani, the game’s mascot, made a special appearance at the expo, delighting attendees with its cool and quirky design. A prize giveaway was held for those who made interactions with Khamani and Disputed People Games socials.

Disputed People Games held their second Podcast on Tour, featuring Rage Expo attendees. The podcast provided attendees with a unique opportunity to share their thoughts and experience with a wider audience. The podcast also covered the Rage event experience, Khamani new trailer and everything gaming in general.
